See the sleeping tiger woke up after 16 years!The Nepal Cricket Association (CAN) has removed Rubina Chhetri from the captaincy of the women’s national cricket team for 11 years.

All-rounder Indu Burma has been appointed as the new captain in place of Rubina. Similarly Bindu Rawal has been appointed vice-captain. Even though she was removed from the captaincy, Rubina is still in the national team. In 2012, CAN gave Rubina the captaincy of the women’s team. She replaced Neri Thapa at the time. Rubina has been continuously playing for the national team since 2009. Under his captaincy, Nepal played 46 T20 international matches from 2019 to 2023, winning 32 and losing 13 matches.

New captain Indu Burma has been representing the Nepali women’s national team since 2011. A right-handed batsman and medium pacer, Indu made her debut for the Nepali Under-19 national team in 2010. Indu, who has played 44 T-20 internationals for Nepal, scored 493 runs with a half-century and also took 23 wickets. CAN has announced a 14-member team for the four-nation T-20 international series to be held in Hong Kong from November 15 to 19.

Giving priority to young players in the announced team and changing the captain has indicated a change in women’s cricket. Priority is given to young and fit players in the team.
