Royle Blue said on Thursday that they are going to honor players Kushal Malla and Dipendra Singh Airi with two lakh rupees each. These two players have set a world record in the game held at the Zhejiang University Cricket Ground in Hangzhou, China on Wednesday.
Young batsman Kushal Malla broke the records of three cricketers including Indian captain Rohit Sharma and South Africa’s David Miller by completing the fastest century in Twenty20 cricket. He remained not out on 137 runs.
Another player, Dipendra Singh Airi, surpassed the record held by former Indian batsman Yuvraj Singh. Dipendra completed his half-century in 9 balls and set the record for the fastest half-century in
Twenty20. Yuvraj Singh had a record of half-centuries in 12 balls. Dipendra remained not out for 52 runs off 10 balls. During this, Dipendra scored eight in the first 9 ballsNepal’s Kushal Malla hit 12 sixes and Dipendra Singh Airi hit eight sixes. Kushal completed his century in just 34 balls,
leaving behind the record of centuries in 35 balls held by Rohit, Miller and Czech Republic’s Sudesh Wickremesekara. In this process, Nepal played the scheduled 20 overs and set a world record total of 314 runs against Mongolia with the loss of three wickets.
This total is also the largest in Twenty20 cricket by 36 runs. Earlier in 2019, Afghanistan (278/3 against Ireland) and Czech Republic (278/4 against Turkey) jointly set the record for
Twenty20 mammoth totals. Nepal hit 26 sixes and 12 fours in their innings. This any team in Twenty20 cricketKushal came to bat when Nepal was 42/1 in the fifth over. Another opener Kushal Bhurtel was also dismissed when Nepal added 66 runs. However, Kushal did not stop the aggressive batting.
Rohit scored 61 runs off 27 balls. Kushal Malla shared a 193-run partnership with Rohit for the third wicket in 10.5 overs. After Rohit’s dismissal, the match became more exciting.
Nepal registered a comprehensive victory of 273 runs when Mongolia, who batted in response, were bowled out for 41 runs in 13.4 overs.
This result is also the biggest win in Twenty20 cricket so far. Nepal surpassed the world record of 257 runs scored by Czech Republic against Turkey
