Eliza Gautam has announced that she will contest the by-election from Ilam-2. After the untimely death of UML Vice President Subas Nemwang, the post of MP in the area is vacant.

She said that she is sure to be a candidate in the by-election from Ilam-2, but she is not sure from which party she will stand.
