The International Cricket Council (ICC) has stripped Sri Lanka of hosting the T20 Under-19 World Cup 2024 in January. The ICC had earlier given the responsibility of hosting the Under-19 World Cup 2024 to Sri Lanka. But now the ICC has decided to host the Under-19 World Cup in South Africa.

The ICC has informed that the 15th edition of the World Cup will be held in South Africa due to the political interference in the Sri Lankan Cricket Board and the delay in giving a decision on the hosting of the Under-19 World Cup.
